Defense Mechanism Series
This series reflects on inner universal adaptation by contemplating psychological defense mechanisms. It accesses the archetypes imbedded within our human exchange. As a conscious and subconscious consideration of our environment and the self, the creatures are bred out of themes surrounding identity dysphoria, perception fabrications, mnemonic memory retrieval, power dynamics, sensory perception, gender assimilation and sexual autonomy in relation to childhood, adolescent, and adult trauma. Any female sexual anatomy presented in my work is referencing my own body.
